Laura Marques for LISD Board of Trustees, Place 6
I'm Dr. Laura Marques, and I'm running for Leander ISD Board of Trustees, Place 6 because I believe deeply in what public education can be and I'm committed to helping our schools get there for every single child.
My vision is educational excellence for all kids, not just some. That means high standards that go beyond the basics, building creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills students need to thrive. It means building real partnerships with local businesses and community organizations so our schools have the resources and relevance to prepare students for a world that's changing fast. I will support Leander ISD in finding innovative ways to make that happen, even when funding is tight.
I believe in what public education stands for and what it can do for kids and communities when we invest in it. When schools work for every family, kids get to dream bigger, families thrive, and neighborhoods grow stronger. I will be a tireless advocate for the students, families, and educators who make that possible.
I'll be a voice on this board for students and families like mine, ones who needed something more, something different, or just someone in their corner. I want every parent to feel like the public school in their neighborhood is the best option for their child. I'm committed to making that a reality.
