Claire Campos-O'Neal for DVISD

I’m running for Del Valle ISD School Board, Single Member District 3, because I believe every student deserves access to a high-quality public education.

I’m a mom of two boys at Newton Collins Elementary, and like so many parents, I want my children to learn in schools where they receive excellent instruction, feel safe and cared for, have opportunities to explore their interests, and know that they belong.

One of the things I love most about public education is that it is public. It brings children from different backgrounds and experiences together to learn alongside one another. And our schools are stronger when every child has the opportunity to thrive.

I believe the responsibility of a school board is to:

1. Provide strong oversight

2. Ask the hard questions

3. Ensure the people entrusted with running our district are delivering for students and families

As a trustee, I would lead by listening. I want to hear directly from parents, teachers, students, and our community about their concerns, their ideas, and their hopes for our schools. I would work with district leadership to turn that community vision into action.

I would lead with curiosity. Public education is complicated, and good decisions require understanding the details. I want to ask questions, dig into the issues, and learn enough to explain them clearly to the parents and families I represent.

And I would lead with honesty—about the good, the bad, and the ugly. We cannot improve if we are unwilling to confront uncomfortable truths. We have to be willing to reflect on what hasn't worked, learn from our experiences, hold ourselves accountable, and do better going forward.

If you believe in strong public schools and want a trustee who will listen, learn, and lead with honesty, I would be honored to have your support.

Every contribution helps me reach more voters, share my vision for Del Valle ISD, and build a campaign rooted in the community I hope to serve.

Thank you for believing in our students and in the power of public education—and for being part of this campaign.
