Elect Laurie Solis for AISD Trustee
I’m Laurie Solis, and I’m running to serve as your Austin ISD District 7 Trustee.
My husband and I were both raised by people who believed in serving their communities. My father owned a small business, but he still found time to support our neighborhood Pop Warner program, with my mom volunteering right alongside him. That example of showing up and giving back has stayed with me.
AISD and South and Southwest Austin have now been part of our family’s life for more than 15 years. Our daughter Emma graduated from Bowie in 2022, our son Aedan in 2025, and our youngest, Maggie, is a current 10th grader.
Along the way, we didn’t just send our kids to school here—we became part of the community. We’ve volunteered in our schools and with organizations like Oak Hill YSA and the Manchaca Optimist Club. For me, that involvement grew into years of PTA leadership, districtwide advocacy, supporting families and campuses across AISD, and working inside our classrooms.
At the heart of all of this is something I learned from my parents a long time ago: if you care about your community, you show up for it. That’s what I’ve tried to do for AISD for years, and it’s why I’m asking for the opportunity to serve District 7 as your trustee.
Thank you for believing in me and donating to the campaign. As we carry this momentum into the coming weeks, I hope we continue showing up for one another and for our public schools. Our community's voice matters, and voting is one of the most important ways we can participate in shaping its future.
