Today, I humbly reach out to announce we have officially started a nonpartisan campaign for College Station City Council, Place 4. This is a special election with dates approaching quickly and kindly ask you vote Marycruz DeLeon Morales on January 28, 2020!
…
As a native of Bryan/ College Station Marycruz earned an Associates in Science from Blinn College, studied abroad at La Universidad IberoAmericana with a focus in Economics, Finance, and Management; continued her studies at Sam Houston State University to earn a Bachelor’s of Business Administration, majoring in International Business and a minor in Spanish. Most recently Marycruz attended The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University and received a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management with an emphasis in Philanthropy.
Marycruz’s heart is vested in her faith, family, and community. She is married to Cris, and the mother of three boys: Cristian 7, Mateo 4, and Aaron Michael a glorious 4 months old. They enjoy family time at local community events, trying out new sports, volunteering, or just listening to music and dancing.
Marycruz has worked in many fields and professions, including personal and small business banker, and Commercial Banking where it was important to cultivate relationships with Higher Education, Nonprofits, and Local Governments. She has also worked in a government position where she took ownership to ensure all attendees felt welcomed. Many, if not all positions held required selflessly serving others. Her knowledge & experiences are not hers to keep, but rather to implement for the continued betterment of our community.
Her endless dedication to community partnership, ability to bridge gaps, and knowledge of resources makes her the best candidate for City Council, interacting with residents on a day to day basis gives her the opportunity to understand and empathize with diverse groups.
Marycruz’s community involvement ranges from serving on the Board of Directors for the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, previously on the Community Development Advisory Committee, the founder of Summer in B/CS which includes Friday Field Trips, founder of The Costume Exchange, Representative of The Hispanic Heritage Committee, Profit Share Chair for her sons’ elementary school, and a graduate of The Brazos County District Attorney Inaugural Citizen’s Prosecutor Academy.
Through her experiences, Marycruz understands the importance of: budgets on a large and small scale, partnerships throughout our community with first responders and local government, affordable housing, mental & physical health, maintaining safe neighborhoods, and preserving our green space and our historical sites. Marycruz also understands we must continue to stay aware of our national recognized small business owners and keep them as a forefront. They hire here, live here, pay taxes here, & make the most dynamic economic impact.

As a mother of students in CSISD, and homeowner in College Station, I am vested to continue to make College Station a safe place where students come to study, families raise their children, and retirees come to enjoy all we have to offer.
City Council should be a direct reflection of its residents and I am ready to be a voice at City Hall. I look forward to discussing my campaign in person, via email, or phone.
