World Vitiligo Day

My name is Stephanie Gatica and  I have a few questions for you:

Have you ever walked into a room and been stared at so hard that it hurt?

Have you ever been told “It's not Halloween, take your mask off”

Have you ever entered an elevator and people have left thinking you are contagious?

People making up stories that you have been burned, or a chemical peel gone wrong.

I have

People with vitiligo endure some of the cruelest treatment, all because of the colors of our skin. Vitiligo is a disease that causes skin patches to lose color, resulting in white spots. There is no cure, and it is usually a lifelong condition. Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease. Vitiligo is not contagious. If the skin patches are visible, the social stigma of vitiligo can make it more challenging to cope. Embarrassment can lead to problems with self-esteem, and in some cases, anxiety and depression can result.

Increasing awareness about vitiligo, such as by talking with friends about it and seeking role models with vitiligo, can help people with the condition overcome these difficulties.

I am hosting a World Vitiligo Day on June 25, 2024 at 12 pm

On this day, Jose Velazquez will present a proclamation  and the event will be held at

Hecho En Mexcio on Montoplis.

I am reaching out for sponsorship to help make this day successful and memorable.
