My name is Erica Smith, and I am running as a Democrat for County Clerk in Williamson County. Like my parents before me, I am from Jarrell, which is where I continue to live happily with my husband, son, and dog. My mother and father worked hard to give my brothers and me a good life in Jarrell. It wasn't always easy growing up in such a small town, but we always had access to necessities either here in town or in Georgetown, Round Rock, or even Taylor. I made friends back then that I still count on to this day, and they know they can count on me. We learned a lot together in those modest brick school buildings. Our teachers were dedicated professionals. Our parents worked for the local businesses. We gave to our community, and our community gave to us. That's what makes Williamson County so special. As a young adult, I took interest in local politics and worked diligently in my internship at the State Capitol to learn about public service while attending and graduating from Southwestern University on an academic scholarship.
Growing up in Jarrell, I watched our county grow firsthand. I know this area, the good and the bad, like the back of my hand. Williamson County is my home, and my greatest wish is to help it through its growing pains so that our children who represent the future can enjoy the merits of a close-knit community while also enjoying opportunities that come from a growing and diverse region.
Making a contribution of $25 or whatever you can afford will help us build a community-based campaign for a fair, impartial, and inclusive county clerk for Williamson County.
