Adam Swartz for Justice [of the Peace]

Adam M. Swartz is a strong Democratic candidate for Dallas County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Place 1 & is asking for your vote for the opportunity to serve.

Adam is consumer protection attorney, advocate & civil litigator, as well as a DFW Metroplex activist & public servant. Formerly General Counsel for a national credit restoration organization, his private practice quickly found a niche defending consumers from malicious landlords, debt collectors, & credit reporting agencies. His law practice also includes traffic tickets & fine-only criminal defense in municipal, JP precincts, and County courts across 9+ North Texas counties since 2015.

Adam received his law degree in 2013 from Texas Wesleyan/Texas A&M School of Law in Fort Worth, TX, earning maxima laude honors from the Board of Advocates. He served as the Board of Advocates' Executive Board COO for Dispute Resolution Advocacy (Chair), and is a Qualified Mediator under Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable standards.

Adam currently serves as the Democratic Precinct Chair in the Walnut Hill/US-75 area, serves as co-Chair of the Dallas Association of Lawyer's Bolton Ball/Charity Ball Committee, and co-Chair of the Dallas Bar's Community Involvement Committee.
Recognized by Thompson Reuters as a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2017, he has received the DAYL Foundation Scholarship for Ethical Service to the Community, created the Charity Madness fundraising tournament for the Dallas Bar (benefitting Family Place [familyplace.org] & the Grant Halliburton Foundation, [granthalliburton.org], and has served Dallas City Council on subcommittee under the Judicial Nominating Committee on reforming the Dallas Municipal Court, working with various Judges and attorneys to streamline administrative processes and overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Outside of the lawyering-world, Adam is a passionate Arts & animal advocate, serving on the governing Boards of Directors for Dallas' own award-winning IMPRINT TheatreWorks and Awwdoptable, Inc. (a local registered 501(c)3 animal rescue and rehoming outfit), and coaches the Dallas TAG School's 5th grade Destination Imagination team (2nd Pl. @ Regionals & State). He also serves on the board of the North Texas Jewish Democratic Council, is a 2019 Progressive Change Campaign Committee trainee, and served on the Texas Civil Rights Project's Dallas Area Voting Rights Committee. He has worked as an Election Clerk in 4 of the past 5 Dallas County elections, and before that in the Election Protection boiler room on Election Day itself.

Adam was the original architect of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce's nationally influential Governmental Affairs Committee, was a final-four finalist for Small Business of the Year, and was the 2012 Financial INdustry Regulatory Association (FINRA)'s Dispute Resolution Triathlon National Champion (competition held in Manhattan, NY @ St. John's School of Law).

At the end of the day, Adam is a homegrown community advocate with a service heart and has spent his career fighting for everyday people in arena after arena after arena. Adam grew up in Section 8 housing in North Dallas, is a single father of an amazing 11-year old daughter, and is dedicated to making sure your Justice of the Peace in Dallas County is truly a People's Court, in both spirit and deeds.
