Education & Poverty

Beacon Voyages for Service is the alternative spring break program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. This spring, 12 volunteers from Umass Boston will head to Chicago, Illinois to volunteer for nonprofits that focus on education and poverty. Volunteers will tutor students, create "reading packages" for students to take home over school breaks, and engage students in learning fairs to promote literacy and academic success.
