Update: Well, May 6th, we came out on top of the heap with 45% of the vote to my challengers' respective 42% and 13% because of your help and support. That is even in spite of Republican leadership sending out emails specifically about me and what a threat to democracy I am to their base two weeks before, one week before, and the day of the election. 

Now we go to a run-off election on June 10th. I'm going to keep this page open a bit longer so we can raise awareness about the run-off. I'm excited to see where this wild ride will take all of us next!

Your donation will help me continue to advocate for marginalized members of our community at the college and on the board. In the last five years of service, I've helped to get paid family leave instituted, better pay for our police officers, work towards a position of Chief Diversity Officer on the executive team, and more. 

We're blessed with resources at Collin College. I'd like to see us do things like adding a financial literacy course to our booming welding program and developing a statewide program for incarcerated students. 

If you're wondering about the cap on fundraising, let me explain. As a trustee, my primary responsibility is feduciary--stewardship of the money that we receive from tax payers, from students in the form of tuition and fees, and from the state legislature. As far as campaigning goes, I have a pretty clear idea of what I'd like to spend money on, and if I'm fortunate enought to reach that threshold, I don't want or need to go beyond it. I don't feel that it is fiscally responsible to spend the equivalent of a small country's GDP on an election, especially when we still have social problems in Collin County like food insecurity and ONE rape crisis center to service our population of 1 million+.
