Kevin O'Bryan for Cedar Park City Council Place 4

Meet Kevin O’Bryan

Candidate for Cedar Park City Council – Place 4
Election Day: May 2, 2026

Cedar Park isn’t just where I live — it’s home. For more than 20 years, my wife and I have raised our two daughters here, building friendships, supporting local schools, and watching our city grow into one of the most vibrant communities in Central Texas.

Now, I am stepping forward to serve.

Experienced. Thoughtful. Prepared to Lead.

I made this decision — together with my wife and family — to run for City Council because I believe Cedar Park deserves experienced, practical leadership focused on smart growth and long-term stability.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Policy (Management & Finance specialization) from the University of Illinois at Chicago and previously worked for the City of Chicago before moving to Cedar Park. My professional background gives me a deep understanding of the real challenges our city faces today:

  • Limited open space for future growth
  • Aging infrastructure that needs modernization — roads, water, sewer, and power
  • Rising property taxes impacting families
  • Complex coordination between city, county, regional, state, and federal agencies

I understand that effective governance requires more than good intentions. It takes collaboration, financial discipline, strategic planning, and clear communication to navigate multiple jurisdictions and deliver results for residents.

Focused on What Matters Most

Cedar Park has grown rapidly — and with growth come growing pains. I have experienced those changes firsthand. Like many neighbors, I have watched tax bills increase and infrastructure strain under expansion.

I believe we can:

  • Modernize infrastructure responsibly
  • Manage growth without sacrificing quality of life
  • Protect homeowners from unnecessary financial burdens
  • Keep Cedar Park a place where families not only want to stay — but can afford to stay

My priority is simple: make decisions that strengthen Cedar Park today while protecting its future.
