Felipe Witchger's message - What if women ran the world? How much better would our institutions be? Well, one of my best friends -- Stephanie -- has just made the decision to run for office. She’s a fierce lawyer who’s been working on behalf of folks who get screwed and not paid for the work they do. She weaves passion, intellectual clarity, and relationships into a thorough understanding of the law and how to democratize access to opportunity and justice. She’s running for Austin Community College’s Board of Trustees. She gets this stuff. I have little doubt But I don’t just want her to win. I want her to get noticed by real political players. People that can invite her in and advocate for her because they themselves want to ride her coat tails. That’s why I’m giving. Stephanie is on a path… I want her to lead in bigger and bigger ways. One more reason: A year ago she married the savviest campaign manager in Austin. When you have a great candidate and a great manager (the one and only Nick Hudson), you’re basically set, right? Well, almost. The challenge is she still has a full time job. He does too. The campaign will get won based on name recognition. Her opponent has a big name. She needs our help to get the word out. Let’s help get more women in office. Let’s get Steph elected!
Because of your support, we've been able to design campaign materials, purchase access to the voter file so we can begin to communicate with voters, print yard signs, and start our digital outreach. Our next step in this campaign is to raise $2,500 more by our first Texas Ethics Commission fundraising deadline on September 27th. If we hit our fundraising goal, we will show the strength of our campaign when we file our first campaign finance report. Please consider chipping in!
